Sooooo, yeah. For some reason I've randomly grown interest in a PS3 or PSP. For the PSP, namely, Dissidia is what I've been looking into. For the PS3... mostly Uncharted 2, I suppose. But there are other things.

A PSP is cheaper than a PS3, (Unless I'm wanting a PSPgo, which... I don't) but overall a PS3 is a... Ok, I didn't really know where I was going with that. The problem I have with getting a PS3 is fear of getting one too late. Sony's already claimed their next console will be out before Microsoft's next one.

Anyways, if I get either console, here's essentially the games I'm interested in:

PSP:
Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Crisis Core
Rock Band Unplugged
Kingdom of Paradise
Daxter
LittleBigPlanet (Which I can also get on the PS3)
Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? (You play as a penguin. 'Nuff said)
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Half-Minute Hero
God of War: Chains of Olympus
Persona
Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier (Can also get on PS2, which I already own)

That's... 'bout it.

PS3:
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
MAG
LittleBigPlanet (Whiiiiiich I can get on the PSP)
Fat Princess
Demon's Souls
Metal Gear Solid 4
inFamous
The Ratchet and Clank games
God of War 3
Kingdom Hearts III

So yeah, even if I do get one or the other, I probably won't get but about half of those games. The ones I'm likely to get if I get the system are in bold. (I SWEAR I didn't make that pattern on purpose)

A PSP would be financially better, considering it doesn't require any controls and the games are less and blah blah blah, and I'm actually starting to lean towards it as I've realized that it's library of games really isn't that bad. Even if most of them are related to Final Fantasy. One of my main issues with the PSP is how fragile it is. I have quite a habit of dropping my handheld systems, and generally, that Nintendo material can take it. But apparently dropping a PSP once on somewhat hard ground will destroy it.

And I'm not sure if I'm going to get EITHER of them. I'm just curious as to what you guys believe the best decision might be if I were to get one.

PSP are very fragile. Very. Mine was in a really thick binder, then a very light kid sat on it, and the inner screen broke. Now that poor kid has been wanting a new one ever since :(

If you don't drop the PSP and use the wrist cord-thingie that it comes with, it will be the better choice in my opinion. I can't have an opinion for the PS3, but then again, PS3 has hardly any interesting games. Plus PSP has Dissidia. Amazing. Plus you can take the PSP with you. Well, you can take the PS3 with you, but... not much luck without a TV and everything else to play it. So... yeah.

PSP.

Hm... that's a good point... though I still have an issue with how fragile it actually is. What version of the PSP did you have? Did they ever fix that problem?

SPEAKING of which, if I WERE to get a PSP, what version should I get? Here's a list of current versions; http://www.ebgames.com/browse/search.aspx?N=196&Ntk=TitleKeyword&Ntt=psp&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial

PSPgo is out, that would ruin the entire point of "financially" better. (The thing friggin' costs more than most of the consoles. Seriously, a refurbished Wii is like a 100 dollars LESS than it) From what I can tell the grip on the bottom would make me drop it easier, anyway. The obvious choice would be to get the cheapest, which is a refurbished original PSP for $100. However, there is a matter of accessories. With the Dissidia bundle, not only will I get Dissidia and a newer version, but also a 2 GB memory stick and the adapter and all of the other basic stuff the refurbished version doesn't come with. (I'll also get a copy of Advent Children, but I already own it, soooo...) Also, it's silver. Schweet. AND, on top of that, it's not refurbished, and the console itself is actually new. (I have a bit of an issue with getting refurbished consoles of any kind... especially ones that I don't really know how they work) Basically, since I'm going to have to get the memory stick and Dissidia one way or another, if I WERE to get the lowest costing one, it'd still be $170 dollars at the very least. I'm not exactly sure of most of the differences between the original and the 3000, (Though I do know the 3000 has a mic and the original doesn't) but...

Another choice would be the Rock Band Unplugged bundle, which has a 4 GB memory stick rather than a 2 GB one, but the game is cheaper. It DOES come with a movie starring Jack Black, though... hm... Err, though, I'm not sure what the memory stick is used for exactly, game saves aside. So I don't know if I'll actually need one larger than 4 GB.

And let's not rule out the Hannah Montana bundle, of course.

Holy crap, apparently a PSP version of Fat Princess is being made. One less reason to get a PS3.

I had the original. Wait. The slimmer one. Yeah. That one. So not the original. The one after that, but I think before the schweet silver sexy PSP.

Again, coming from a Final Fantasy fan, I'd get the Dissidia deal. Now I'll try to be a person who thinks the games are okay, it's hard because that's not a fact, but I'd still go with the Dissidia deal anyways. I would definitely drop the PS3 thought no matter what. The only interesting games for PS3 are games you can basically get for 360, PSP, or PS2. Not exactly but in some form or fashion, yes.

Antyways, Dissidia PSP deal.

Holy crap I lied. I had the original. But I think I had a slimmer version of the original. I'm not sure. Just to avoid confusion, say I had the original.

The slimmer version was the PSP 2000, methinks. It was called PSP Slim...

And actually, yeah, you're right. Almost all of the games I listed for the PS3 I can either get the same or close to the same game on the PSP...

As for the bundle, I'm leaning towards the Dissidia one. It's is quite a schmexy silver, and I've been wanting to kick Cloud's ass with Squall for a while now. I find it funny how much I've bashed the PSP in the past and yet I'm now wanting one and finding it to be better than Sony's actual current-gen console.

Hm... it still requires a bit of though...

On another note, any other games anyone would like to recommend for the PSP?

Pursuit Force. If you can find it. That game is amazing. Best PSP game I ever played. I only played like 4 or 5 though. But I promise you you will love it. Basically it's a racing game and shooter (kinda) put together. You are some kind of cop and you chasing baddies, right right right? Well, you start out in a car chasing them of course, right right right? But not only that, you also JUMP from car to car chasing evil peoples. And, you can also drive boats and big trucks too. I make it sound boring. Just believe me that it is amazing. It's older so it'll be cheaper and harder to find, but it's amazing. Get it. NAO. Yes, before you get the PSP, even.

I mean in the actual store. I don't order online. Too much hassle FOR ME. Now maybe for Blaze the cat it isn't. But for April the Retard, it is.

It's probably in the store, too. Then again, I've never actually looked at the PSP rack of... anything. The game looks quite interesting, though. Kinda like being the same thing as Grand Theft Auto but at the same time is also the opposite of Grand Theft Auto.

Yeah. Grand Theft Auto is free roam basically to an extent (like all "free" roam games), but Pursuit Force isn't. Grand Theft Auto has boring missions, but Pursuit Force doesn't. Of course if you want a "free" roam game like GTA, they always have GTA's for PSP XD

I believe calling myself April the Retard is actually making me think the literal definition for retard. So I should stop.

The Ghost in the Shell game for PSP is amazing. It's a shooter too. I'd recommend that IF you liked the show. If not, well I'd still get it. The last level music is amazing too <3

When I said that, I actually didn't really know what the mechanics of the game were. I had just looked at a few pictures. Though I do like free roam games, Pursuit Force still looks pretty fun.

I would love to have a PS3, but if their new one is out soon enough, then it's probably backwards-compatible, so I'd just wait for it, since PS3's are quite the expensive system.

PSPs aren't that fragile.. I've dropped mine a few times, and it's still going strong.

I haven't really explored many games for it, as I use mostly homebrew apps for media and such... I have a Phat, but I'd go for a newer version. (Not the Slim, that's kind of a ripoff. You'd be better off buying what I have..)
