What do you guys think of it? I think it consumes too much of your machines resources to be effective at the moment. Plus, I dislike it cause I can't afford a Vista gaming machine. (Quake II FTW!!) |

Vista SUCKS. PERIOD. First off, you pretty much have to buy a new computer to even RUN a decent version of it... And upgrade your video card after that... It also distorts games... No emulater ROMS means no pirates, and that puts me out of business. The only thing I see that's much different about it and XP pro, is the graphics are obscenely enhanced, widgets (they seriously copied Opera there, damn Microsoft), and too much help. I know it's supposed to be user-friendly, but you can't make changes (too much security), and every time you click something, you get a help menu. That's annoying. Also the cost... Who would pay $600 for an OS? Hell, I think $600 for a PS3 is too much. After upgrading/buying a Also it will only use certain Hardware. All hardware needs to be NEW (I'm talking about creme of the crop) to even be compatable with it (mostly periphials... HD's and other storage is alright). If you don't have a Vista compatable Driver, it is like WiFi with Linux... it simply does not work. I could jabber forever, but I'm not sure many people know what Vista is. |

I do, which is good enough. No emulation??? But that means... I'D HAVE TO... *gulp* BUY GAMES!!! especially Earthbound. That crap with a SNES is like $50. |

I know. If you're a gamer, Vista is NOT for you. The only people I can see using Vista is people who have lots of money to blow, and they pretty much want a nice Windows Media Player and pretty clocks. Not even nerds will buy it. Believe me, I am one. It also doesn't have a CLIT (Command Line Interface Terminal... LAMO! I just noticed the silly pun), and I usually just close everything (including explorer) and just launch a Dos Box to do everything. It's a lot more powerful and much faster than shell32.dll (explorer). |

Although, I can see why Microsoft eliminated the command prompt. Mainstream didn't use it, and it could be used to hack into XP's profile system. But yeah, Microsoft shouldn't have made the requirements SO HIGH. Although from a business perspective, forcing n00bs to buy a new setup for a faster processor or something like that is great. Evil!! |

Hmm... I disagree with ALL of you. I have a Vista, and it works perfectly for gaming. I have Sims 2, Heritage of Kings, ALL of the Roller COaster Tycoons, Sims 1 (and all of the expansions), and many more installed and it works perfectly. The media center is really cool, because, well, it just is. So, all of you who oppose Vista, I say to you... Nay. |

I can't remember anything. Can't tell if this is true or a dream. | |

We aren't talking about games that were developed by studios, we are talking about unlicensed, somewhat legal games. Get Project64 running then we'll talk. |

For some reasonb, when I loaded my Pirated Version of Win XP por, I already had a Proj64 expansion in it... weird. Vista is bad for Hackers like me. It is too secure. I like screwing around with my own computer, and making it do weird things to p*** people off. I have tried messing around with Vista... it just doesn't work. Yeah, the sims and stuff was built for the PC... We're talking about real games, only Pirates can play real games on their computer. C'mon, Illeagle emulation is the s***. It's free, and you don't have to buy AR or Gameshark... hell, you can design your own cheats. |

I can't believe you are using that sentence to describe a Microsoft product. concerning your slightly legal WinXPPro... Cause who actually BOUGHT XP? Everyone who isn't a n00b either stole it or had it preinstalled on their box. Course, that means you would have had to bought a computer... |

My friend downloaded an ISO image of the install disk and burned me a copy and a keygen for it. Isn't that hard to do. I did buy my computer, but it is old and I bought it for $25 from my teacher... at the time I got a free Red Hat Linux (the only Linux that costs money), but I tossed it because Linux HATES WiFi. Vista is too secure. It's security is virtually unhackable in the Ultimate edition... But the beta had some holes (I tested it for them... It was avaliable for download for 2 hours on a specific day about three months ago... Remember, I'm an ethical Hacker). I took that download and put it on my neighbor's faster computer (a live version). Ugh, I hated it all except the cool media player. The video quality was ultra crisp, and I think it only runs in 64 bit color on a wide-screen monitor, otherwise it looks like crap. The media player, though, played perfect video and sound with no lag or buffer time strait off of a DVD with Windows Media Player. It played better than my DVD player does. XD Other than the video, I wouldn't have anything to do with it. I'm about to write a CLIT shell for XP with a dosbox inbedded on my desktop and a calendar in the top right, then redistribute the shell freely on the web. |
