Guidelines
-------------------------- Gamer's Cove Terms of Service and Forum Guidelines -------------------------- We here at Gamer's Cove provide a user-friendly environment for our members to enjoy their posting experience, and generally only ask for a friendly-user environment in return to keep the cycle rollin'. We act as a community, which incites the cooperation of our diverse group to, per se, "Keep the peace" and "stay legal"... In other words, if we all act like civilized people, but still ourselves, then we'll influence new members to do the same, and we'll grow and have no problems. Yeah, we got a few rules for maintaining the peace and laws, but that's all it is. Registering here at Gamer's Cove we assume that you have read and will abide by these rules, but in the case that you don't, we have an established warning/suspend/ban system. We'll warn you for breaking minor rules, no real punishment, but the warning meter may go up. When it hits 100% you go bye-bye till Joe or Final (smells) decides to bring you back in. Upon breaking rules on a larger scale, we may suspend you for an undisclosed amount of days or ban permanently, depending on the severity of the rule-breaking in question. All punishments are made on an individual basis and can be different for different people and how they handle the situations. Be smart and stay out of trouble to save yourself the embarrassment by following these rules. ------ SPAM ------ WE ARE A SPAM FREE COMMUNITY! Our idea of spam is a lot more relaxed than others but there are a couple of pointers on that note... -1: We are not an instant chat room. Yes, we do hold sometimes fast-paced conversations at times in the general chat area, but mostly it's confined to one thread. -2: 3 word minimum to posts. If not, we'll probably delete them without warning. This isn't strictly held by, sometimes in joke or word/forum games it's usually overlooked, but just going into a thread and saying "hi" then someone reply with "what's up?", "not much", "cool", "you?"... You get the point, it's a pain. -3: For those of you who must spam, prove that you are a loyal member of Gamer's Cove and we can reward you with insider, where inside is a whole forum dedicated to spamming to your heart's content. ------ STAFF ------ No, don't ask, we're not accepting any new staff members at the time. When we are in dire need, we will ask for them, and the easiest way to not get on the team is registering, making a few posts, then asking to become staff. Upside about not being on staff is, the lack of trouble around here, there's really not much to "Moderate" and the only work we do is old, bothersome cubicle jobs of paperwork and janitorial duties... Trust me, you'd much rather enjoy your time posting and having fun. But if you do see something out of whack or another member mistreating the anim---I mean another member, then be sure to report it and we'll think of something as a reward. Unlike most people, we enjoy backseat drivers to tell us what looks wrong from your perspective so that we can fix it. ------ LANGUAGE ------ ENGLISH... Please. This is an English-speaking board, and frankly, most of us are clueless when it comes to other languages, so if you come in here speaking Vietnamese, be prepared to learn our language or be banned out of confusion. Also, most swearing has been censored, and as long as it's not personally insulting to another person on the board it's fine to swear. It'll probably show up as something with a bunch of ****'s next to the first letter but that's just there because of Administrative preference. Oh yeah, and no racial slurs... may be overlooked if out of lyrical context or quoting a literary work, but that's the limit. ------ SEX ------ lol... I like my title... We do not care about discussing sex or other relations, but please don't be too graphic in the wrong areas. There is a blog section if you want to write the erotic novel of your sexual escapades, but leave the arabesque and grotesque literacy of your ins and outs in that section. If you wanna say, "I porked my woman last night" in the General Chat, do it, but leave the details out. In the category of love, we also do NOT allow any sexually explicit image files on our board. This also includes videos and links to xxx-sites. We're also not a hook-up board, but if you do find love in here, may Yevon help you. One more thing: you may talk about sexual orientations, but do not bash other members for their orientations. If jokes are made, fine... but if someone comes to us feeling offended over something you said about it, you may go poof. ------ USERS ------ Other users have the same rights and laws as you do here. Fighting with them on our open boards will make us mad and we will warn/suspend/ban as we see fit... It's ok to argue to an extent, it's ok to debate, but when they get out of hand, we know how to put the stopper down.
